Our Supporters: Partners in Making a Difference
This page is dedicated to recognising the incredible support we've received from local businesses and organisations. Their generous contributions, whether through donations, volunteering, or partnerships have played a vital role in helping Lofty Heights Skills Academy grow and thrive. These collaborations not only enhance the opportunities available to the young people but also strengthen the community. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing commitment of our supporters, whose involvement continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people on our courses.
Breheny Civil Engineering tool donation
We were fortunate to receive a generous donation from Breheny, thanks to David Ling, their Training and Development Manager. This donation consisted of tools and construction equipment for the Lofty Heights Skills Academy, specifically helping our Trade Skills Academy.
David Ling fittingly described this support as an investment in the aspirations of those entering the construction industry. Garry Mills, CEO of Lofty Heights, echoes this sentiment, expressing gratitude to David and Breheny for their invaluable contribution.
This donation has already made a significant impact on our courses, developing the hands-on learning experience for young people with real-world tools crucial for the construction industry. These tools not only enhance skill development but also elevate the overall quality of education and practical training at Lofty Heights.
We extend our sincere thanks to Breheny for their role in improving the learning journey of our students and for their contribution to the growth and success of the construction industry.

GBS Contracts donation
GBS Builders in May 2024 donated the Lofty Heights Skills Academy timber, screws, plasterboard and much more.
This donation helped us continue to develop our Multi Skills Academy course for local young people.

Multifix donation
In January MultiFix kindly donated us an assortment of screws, wall plugs and safety glasses. We always value the ongoing support we receive from local employers and businesses that help bring our courses to life.
In March 2024, we were fortunate to receive a large and incredibly generous donation from Hutton Construction. This donation included timber lengths, slabs, high-visibility vests, hard hats, a door, and even a bike rack. These contributions enable us to maintain our support for the young people attending our Trade Skills Academy, offering them hands-on practical lessons in carpentry and bricklaying.
The supply of timber is particularly valuable as it allows us to construct additional bays where young people can further develop their construction skills. Each donation we receive is greatly appreciated, knowing how it helps positively impact the learner's experience on our courses.

JC Kitchen donation
“When we heard Lofty Heights were looking for ways to rejuvenate their kitchen area, we knew we were able to help. In our business we say that the kitchen is the heart of any home. We hope this kitchen will become the social hub of the organisation for the people it serves, providing a space to build relationships and learn valuable new skills. We are pleased to play a small part in this journey and are excited to see the positive impact this kitchen will have on the people who use it” Eliza Barrett-Wild, Managing Director, JC Kitchens
“We are so grateful to JC Kitchens for donating a fully functional kitchen for our students and visitors to use when visiting the Lofty Heights Skills Academy. The kitchen plays such a pivotal space within the centre, a space where young people can come together and share their experiences; a space where the challenges of the outside world can be forgotten; a space where problems can be solved over a good old-fashioned cuppa and a chat. The adaptive design of the kitchen to accommodate wheelchair users is equally amazing, making this truly a space for everyone!” Garry Mills, CEO, Lofty Heights CIC

Kim, the Community Champion at Tesco Ipswich, has been an invaluable supporter of our organisation. She volunteered at our Open Day event, serving refreshments and donating items for the occasion. In addition, Kim helps promote our courses by advertising them on Tesco’s community noticeboard, increasing awareness and engagement.
Felixstowe Radio support
Felixstowe Radio has supported Lofty Heights Skills Academy by promoting our work through an interview and guest session. Claire Flowers, our Education Manager, had the opportunity to attend and share insights about the LH Skills academy and the courses we offer. This collaboration has helped raise awareness of the valuable skills and education we provide to our community.
Gipping Construction donation
In June 2024, Gipping Construction generously supported Lofty Heights Skills Academy with a donation of fencing and power tools. This contribution has been instrumental in helping us expand the Multi Skills Academy, providing students with access to a wider range of tools that enhance their hands-on learning experience. The fencing donation has also improved safety measures during outdoor practical lessons, creating secure workspaces and walkways for our students.
MPCT support
In June 2024, the Military Preparation College for Training (MPCT) generously volunteered 4 hours of their time, with 9 young people and 2 staff, to help transform our overgrown and neglected front garden. Their hard work resulted in a clean and welcoming outdoor space at our centre, creating a more inviting environment for everyone who visits.
Ipswich Borough Council support and donation
In July 2024, Ipswich Borough Council supported us by hosting a free drug-related litter training session at our building, allowing attendees to learn how to keep our community safe. The training covered what drug-related litter is, why it's important to report it, and how to do so effectively. A few months later, the council generously donated litter-picking kits, which we will use to maintain cleanliness around our building and in the local area, with the help of young people. This partnership has been vital in promoting a cleaner and safer environment for our community.
The Tudwick Foundation donation
The Tudwick Foundation generously helped fund the installation of a new boiler in our building. This significant contribution has provided us with permanent hot water, greatly improving cleanliness and hygiene for the young people and professionals on site. We are immensely grateful for their support in enhancing the living conditions at our facility.
Sanctuary Housing support
Sanctuary Housing kindly supported us by sharing information about our work and displaying flyers in their building, encouraging donations of unwanted or preloved work boots. As a result, we received three pairs of boots, which have since been put to continuous use by our Multi Skills Academy students, helping them in their practical training.
Ygam support
In May 2024, Ygam hosted a free gaming and gambling harm prevention workshop at our building. The event was attended by over 15 professionals, along with all staff from the Lofty Heights Skills Academy. This valuable workshop provided crucial insights into preventing gaming and gambling-related harm, equipping our team and other attendees with the knowledge to better support young people in these areas.
